This loggia, built between 1503 and 1505 by Cassiano da Fabriano and Matteo Sabatini using salvaged materials from the unfinished palace of Cardinal Venieri di Recanati, was destined to host the town steelyard to weigh grains, in the XVI century this is a place for contracts and exhibition of goods and it was also used as entrance to the office of clerks of the Court of Justice of the General Curia as well as the merchants’ meeting rooms.

This building was situated in the upper floor in the 17th century.

It was restored by Gaetano Koch in 1905 for the regional exhibition and was partially modified to create an entrance to the Caffè Nazionale. The building is subdivided into two floors with round arches standing on central columns integrated by an angular pillar.

Thanks to its elegant and harmonious proportions it constitutes a spectacular wing to the place.
